Anxiety Therapy in Georgetown, TX

Anxiety Therapy in Georgetown, TX

Anxiety can look like a stomachache before school, a teenager who can’t turn their thoughts off at night, or a parent who feels on edge all the time. However it shows up, it’s exhausting, and it can start to shape everything your family does. At Central Texas Child and Family Counseling, we help children, teens, and adults in Georgetown and Liberty Hill understand their anxiety and build real tools to manage it. You don’t have to wait until things are in crisis to reach out.

Signs Anxiety May Be Getting in the Way

In children:

  • Frequent stomachaches or headaches with no clear cause
  • Meltdowns around separation, school, or bedtime
  • Avoiding activities they used to enjoy
  • Needing lots of reassurance, or asking “what if” questions over and over

In teens:

  • Trouble sleeping or constant worry about school or friends
  • Pulling away from family or activities
  • Irritability, panic, or shutting down under pressure

In adults:

  • Racing thoughts, tension, or trouble relaxing
  • Feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities
  • Worry that affects sleep, work, or relationships

How We Help

Our therapists tailor care to your age and stage. For younger children, that often means play therapy, which helps kids express and work through worries in the way they communicate best. Older kids, teens, and adults may work on practical skills drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to notice anxious thoughts and respond differently. Throughout, we focus on connection and felt safety, drawing on approaches like TBRI.

Anxiety Therapy for Children

When a young child is anxious, the whole family feels it. We work directly with your child while partnering with you, so you leave sessions with ways to support them at home. Learn more about child counseling in Georgetown

Anxiety Therapy for Teens

Teens need a space of their own to talk honestly. Our teen counselors help them build coping skills for school stress, social pressure, and big emotions, while keeping parents involved in the ways that matter. Learn more about teen counseling in Georgetown

Support for Adults and Parents

Sometimes the anxiety is yours. Whether it’s the weight of parenting, work, or life transitions, we offer adult counseling to help you feel steadier and more like yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

What To Expect

Reach out by phone or through our contact form, and our care coordinator will learn what’s going on and match you with a therapist who fits your needs and schedule. Sessions are in person at our Georgetown and Liberty Hill offices, with virtual sessions available anywhere in Texas.

Common Questions

Do you take insurance?
We’re an out-of-network, private-pay practice. Many families use FSA or HSA funds, and we can provide a superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

How long does anxiety therapy take?
It varies by person and what’s going on. Your therapist will talk with you about goals and check in on progress along the way.

Is it just “normal worry,” or should I call?
If worry is affecting sleep, school, work, or family life, or you’re simply not sure, that’s a good reason to reach out. We’re happy to talk it through.

FSA and HSA Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts / Health Savings Accounts are often used for services with any of our clinicians. Contact your account provider to verify your allowable expenses.

Out-of-Network Benefits

Out-of-network benefits for most insurance companies can be used for individual therapy with our fully licensed counselors. When using out of network benefits, you will need to, verify your benefits and then submit claims to your insurance provider. See our instructions and tools below to help you with this process.

Using Your Insurance as a Client.

Many clients can get part of their cost reimbursed through their plan’s out-of-network benefits.  We are considered out-of-pocket and don’t bill insurance directly, however we help to simplify the process of using your benefits.  Here’s how.

Step 1: Check your benefits
Use our free insurance checker (left), or call the member services number on your insurance card and ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits?
  • What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much have I met this year?
  • After my deductible, what percentage do you reimburse?
  • Do you reimburse sessions with associate-level counselors (LPC-Associate or LMFT-Associate)?
  • Are family sessions covered? Are couples sessions covered?

Who’s eligible
Sessions with our fully licensed therapists (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) are often eligible for out-of-network reimbursement. Some insurance plans also reimburse sessions with our associate-level counselors, but please check with your plan first. Intern sessions are generally not eligible. Our interns and associates offer lower-cost sessions for families paying out of pocket.

Step 2: Save your invoices
Your invoices include the codes and provider information your insurance needs (often called a “superbill”). Our client portal will email you those superbill invoices after each session.

Step 3: Submit your claims
Submit invoices directly to your insurance company, or use a service like Reimbursify to make it easier: https://reimbursify.com/individual-page/. We receive nothing from Reimbursify; some clients simply find it helpful. Expect reimbursement to take several weeks, and keep copies of everything.

Good to know
Insurance companies require a diagnosis to process a claim, and it becomes part of your (or your child’s) insurance record. Many families are comfortable with that. Some prefer to keep counseling fully private, and paying out of pocket without filing is always an option.
