About Me:

I'm a Licensed Professional and Nationally Board Certified Counselor. I earned a B.S. in Family Studies and M.Ed. in Education from Texas Tech University and an M.Ed. in Counseling & Guidance from Texas State University. I specialize in work with children and adolescents. I have over 20 years of experience working with kids and their families. Prior to going into private practice, I worked as a School Counselor at the elementary and secondary levels.

I use a person-centered approach to work through a range of mental health concerns related to anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, and managing life transitions. I also support those simply desiring personal growth and greater self-knowledge. Therapy approaches I may use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-based Therapy, Humanistic & Play Therapy. I may also incorporate motivational interviewing, mindfulness practices, and art into my therapeutic interventions dependent on the goals desired.

My goal is to provide a climate of safety, acceptance, and comfort for people to explore their emotions. I’m dedicated to treating all individuals in a way that honors their culture, preferences, and beliefs without judgement. As part of our working relationship I provide respect, compassion and inevitably humor. I feel that the quality of the counseling relationship is fundamental in the therapeutic process and I’m passionate about supporting that relationship. Ultimately my goal is to strengthen my client's self-awareness and their ability to apply skills learned to their everyday lives.

I have lived in the Central Texas area all of my adult life. I enjoy OTF workouts, traveling with my family and listening to mental health podcasts. I'm a proud mom of 3 incredible beings and fur-Mom to 2 who like to claim reign of my home. I consider it a privilege to empower children & teens with personal development skills that will stay with them all of their lives.
