About Me:
I am Ashley Wilson, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my Master of Arts degree from Sam Houston State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Nationally Certified Counselor. I have been seeing clients for over 4 years now. I have experience working in both group and individual settings. I work with clients from all walks of life (child/adolescents/adults). I am passionate about helping clients navigate new situations.
My background includes experience in working with children, teens and adults, depression, self-harm, anxiety, stress, anger, substance use and life adjustment issues.
I believe that clients have the ability to choose how to resolve their own problems and can make their own decisions. My role is to assist as a facilitator as clients move toward their goals. I use various modalities and techniques in counseling including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and TBRI. I believe that each person is responsible for their own behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. As a counselor, I hope to work collaboratively with individuals or families in order to help achieve greater self-awareness through their life experiences. This awareness leads to increased confidence, self-esteem, independence, mental health, and the capacity to effectively navigate the complex challenges of life.
I live in Lago Vista with my husband, toddler, and two dogs. In my free time I enjoy spending time at the lake and visiting friends and family.
