Couples and Family Counseling Services

Couples & Marriage Counseling in Georgetown & Liberty Hill, TX

Relationships are meaningful, and they can also be hard.

If you and your partner feel stuck in the same arguments, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward together, couples counseling can help you slow things down, understand what’s really happening beneath the surface, and rebuild connection in a healthier way.

At Central Texas Child and Family Counseling, we provide family, couples and marriage counseling in Georgetown and Liberty Hill for partners and people who want more clarity, stronger communication, and a relationship that feels more secure and connected.

Whether you’re hoping to repair your relationship, strengthen it, or figure out what you want moving forward, you don’t have to navigate this alone.

Is Family or Couples Counseling Right for You?

Couples therapy isn’t just for relationships in crisis. Family therapy isn’t for fallen apart relationships.  Many people seek counseling when they want support making sense of their patterns, improving communication, or reconnecting emotionally.

Couples come to us for help with:

  • Frequent arguments or feeling “stuck” in the same cycle
  • Communication breakdowns or feeling unheard
  • Emotional distance, resentment, or loss of connection
  • Trust concerns or recovering from ruptures
  • Parenting stress impacting the relationship
  • Spouse/romantic partner issues
  • Parent/Child issues
  • Sibling issues
  • Life transitions (career changes, moves, becoming parents, empty nesting)
  • Deciding whether to repair, redefine, or thoughtfully end a relationship

Our Approach to Relationship Therapy

We believe strong relationships are built through understanding, emotional safety, and effective communication — not blame or “winning” arguments.

Our therapists are trained to help couples:

  • Slow down reactive patterns
  • Understand emotional triggers and unmet needs
  • Learn healthier ways to communicate and repair conflict
  • Strengthen emotional and physical connection
  • Build trust, empathy, and teamwork
  • Create clear goals for the future of the relationship

Sessions are structured, supportive, and collaborative. We focus on helping both partners feel heard while keeping the therapy space balanced, respectful, and productive.

A Safe Space for Both Partners

It’s common for couples to worry that therapy will feel uncomfortable or one-sided. Our role is not to take sides — it’s to support the relationship and the people in it.

We work intentionally to:

  • Create a safe, neutral environment
  • Help both partners feel respected and understood
  • Address sensitive topics at a pace that feels manageable
  • Support honest conversations without escalation or shutdown

Many couples tell us they feel relief just having a space where difficult conversations can happen with guidance and care.

Central Texas Child and Family Counseling has deep roots in Georgetown and Liberty Hill. Our therapists understand the unique pressures couples face here of balancing work, family, parenting, and community life while trying to stay connected as partners.

The Counseling Process

Intake

Your first counseling session focuses on understanding what has happened in the past, what is happening now and what you want for the future. With your counselor, goal(s) will be set and you will leave with a summary that has recommendations for a counseling plan.

Sessions

Many counseling goals take around 8 sessions to complete. Some issues are complex and take longer. Our aim is to give you the method and pace of counseling that’s right for you. Most of our clients start out with weekly or bi-weekly sessions.

Maintenance

Your counselor will discuss progress and adjust your plan accordingly throughout the process. When goals are met, treatment may end completely. We also have the option of moving clients to ‘maintenance’, which are wellness sessions every 4-6 weeks.

Out-of-Pocket

Payment for services can be made by cash, check or debit/credit through our client portal. Clients who will not be using In or Out-of-Network insurance benefits or upon request will receive a Good Faith Estimate for services.

FSA and HSA Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts / Health Savings Accounts are often used for services with any of our clinicians. Contact your account provider to verify your allowable expenses.

Out-of-Network Benefits

Out-of-network benefits for most insurance companies can be used for individual therapy with our fully licensed counselors. When using out of network benefits, you will need to, verify your benefits and then submit claims to your insurance provider. See our instructions and tools below to help you with this process.

Therapy is an investment.  Using your Out-of-Network benefits, your HSA, FSA or lower cost clinician can offset the cost.  For out of network benefit use, we recommend the following steps to help make it easier on you.

1.  Check your Benefits.  You can do this by calling the number on the back of your insurance card or you can use our insurance checker. As an out-of-network practice, we have partnered with Mentaya to help our clients save money on therapy. See if you qualify for reimbursement for our services.  Please note that only our fully licensed therapists qualify for OON reimbursement and that insurance policies covers individuals.

2.  Attend and pay for sessions and save your invoices.  Invoices generated by our fully licensed therapists are considered “Superbills” or Insurance Reimbursement Receipts.  You can use the information and codes on these invoices to help you with claim submissions with your insurance.

3.  Submit claims to your insurance.  This can be done directly with your insurance company or through a third party, for usually a minimal cost.  We recommend you document everything and prepare for a wait.  Our practice is registered with Reimbursify, which is an application that clients can use to make submitting claims easier and faster.  Our office receives no benefit from clients using their services, but some of our clients have found that this application has been helpful to get their OON benefits. You can visit Reimbursify and file your first claim for free at: https://reimbursify.com/individual-page/
