The Counseling Process
Intake
Your first counseling session focuses on understanding what has happened in the past, what is happening now and what you want for the future. With your counselor, goal(s) will be set and you will leave with a summary that has recommendations for a counseling plan.
Sessions
Many counseling goals take around 8 sessions to complete. Some issues are complex and take longer. Our aim is to give you the method and pace of counseling that’s right for you. Most of our clients start out with weekly or bi-weekly sessions.
Maintenance
Your counselor will discuss progress and adjust your plan accordingly throughout the process. When goals are met, treatment may end completely. We also have the option of moving clients to ‘maintenance’, which are wellness sessions every 4-6 weeks.

What Our Clients Are Saying
Options for Payment
Out-of-Pocket
Payment for services can be made by cash, check or debit/credit through our client portal. Clients who will not be using In or Out-of-Network insurance benefits or upon request will receive a Good Faith Estimate for services.
FSA and HSA Accounts
Flexible Spending Accounts / Health Savings Accounts are often used for services with any of our clinicians. Contact your account provider to verify your allowable expenses.
Out-of-Network Benefits
Out-of-network benefits for most insurance companies can be used for individual therapy with our fully licensed counselors. When using out of network benefits, you will need to, verify your benefits and then submit claims to your insurance provider. See our instructions and tools below to help you with this process.

Therapy is an investment. Using your Out-of-Network benefits, your HSA, FSA or lower cost clinician can offset the cost. For out of network benefit use, we recommend the following steps to help make it easier on you.
1. Check your Benefits. You can do this by calling the number on the back of your insurance card or you can use our insurance checker. As an out-of-network practice, we have partnered with Mentaya to help our clients save money on therapy. See if you qualify for reimbursement for our services. Please note that only our fully licensed therapists qualify for OON reimbursement and that insurance policies covers individuals.
2. Attend and pay for sessions and save your invoices. Invoices generated by our fully licensed therapists are considered “Superbills” or Insurance Reimbursement Receipts. You can use the information and codes on these invoices to help you with claim submissions with your insurance.
3. Submit claims to your insurance. This can be done directly with your insurance company or through a third party, for usually a minimal cost. We recommend you document everything and prepare for a wait. Our practice is registered with Reimbursify, which is an application that clients can use to make submitting claims easier and faster. Our office receives no benefit from clients using their services, but some of our clients have found that this application has been helpful to get their OON benefits. You can visit Reimbursify and file your first claim for free at: https://reimbursify.com/individual-page/
